It is a conventional US full-time shorthand: one paid year spread across 2,080 work hours. It is not perfect—most employees take PTO and many roles exceed 40 hours—but it gives a consistent, reproducible baseline. We document the limitation openly so you can mentally adjust (e.g. multiply by 1.1 if your team averages 44-hour weeks).

No. Meeterboard never asks for your salary. Figures are public averages for a company level band on Levels.fyi. Your real comp may differ due to negotiation, location, performance, or recent grants. Use the tool for directional team cost, not personal income verification.

Cached company and level rows refresh when older than seven days or when you trigger a manual refresh via our seed API. Attendees already in a meeting keep their snapshot TC from join time. Read How Meeterboard uses Levels.fyi data.

You can use it as a rough planning aid, but our Terms state that estimates are not financial or legal advice. For client billing or headcount budgeting, validate rates with finance or contracts. Meeterboard is informational.

No. A cookie assigns a UUID on first visit. Save your ID from Profile to restore sessions on another device. Clearing cookies creates a new empty profile.

Spectate shows the single most expensive meeting currently in running or paused status site-wide. Names are replaced with deterministic animal aliases; custom display names are hidden. Costs tick live when the meeting is running.

Leaderboard ranks meetings by total labor cost. Filters include live (open meetings), today, this week, this month, and all time. Only meetings attributed to real sessions appear; demo data is not injected.

Not today. All attendees use pay bands from the host's company cache. If you need cross-company math, run separate clocks or use spreadsheet assumptions for guests.

Elapsed time and costs freeze at the pause timestamp. Resume continues from that point without backfilling pause duration into attendee costs.

Quickstart begins a running meeting immediately with you as host. Create opens a ready meeting where you add attendees first, then press Play. Both use the same cost engine.

Your meeting totals can appear on leaderboard and spectate if they rank highly. Spectate anonymizes participant names. Meeting detail URLs are unlisted but not secret—treat shareable links accordingly.
