Privacy Policy

Meeterboard ("we," "us") is operated by Wong Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use meeterboard.comand related pages (the "Service").

Summary

• We do not require accounts, passwords, or OAuth sign-in.
• We assign an anonymous browser cookie (mc_uid) so your meetings and profile persist across visits on the same device.
• Meeting titles, attendee snapshots, and optional display names are stored in our database (Supabase / Postgres).
• We display ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies.
• We fetch public compensation averages from Levels.fyi on our servers; your personal salary is never sent to Levels.fyi through Meeterboard.

Information we collect

Anonymous user identifier

On your first visit, our middleware sets a cookie named mc_uid containing a random UUID. This ID links your browser to rows in our database: optional work profile (company, job family, level), meetings you create, and leaderboard entries attributed to you. You can view this ID on the Profile page and restore it on another device.

Meeting and profile data

When you use the calculator, we may store:

• Company, job family, and level selections from onboarding.
• Optional display name you choose for yourself.
• Meeting metadata: title, status, start/end/pause timestamps, attendee join/leave times, and a snapshot of each attendee's annual total comp at the moment they were added.
• Spectate and leaderboard views show anonymized animal aliases for other users' meetings; custom names are not exposed to spectators.

Server and security logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database host (Supabase) may log IP addresses, request timestamps, and error diagnostics for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to build marketing profiles.

Advertising data

We use Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-4734054900457589). Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, and limit how often you see an ad. This may involve collecting or receiving information from your browser or device.

How we use information

• Operate the meeting calculator, history, spectate, and leaderboard.
• Cache and display Levels.fyi compensation bands you select.
• Improve reliability, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
• Display advertisements through AdSense.
• Respond to support and privacy requests you send us.

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

• Supabase — Postgres database and API hosting (meeting and profile storage).
• Vercel — application hosting and edge delivery.
• Google AdSense — advertising.
• Levels.fyi — public compensation data fetched by our servers; not a recipient of your Meeterboard account data.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We choose vendors with industry-standard security practices but cannot control their independent processing.

Cookies

Meeterboard uses:

• mc_uid — essential for associating your data with your browser (duration: approximately one year, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax).
• Third-party advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and partners when ads load — used for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.

You can block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking mc_uidmeans we cannot save your meetings or profile on that browser.

Data retention

Meeting history and profile rows remain until you delete meetings from History or request deletion. Cached Levels.fyi company and pay-level rows refresh on a rolling basis (typically every seven days). Server logs are retained according to our hosts' default periods.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@meeterboard.com with your Meeterboard user ID. We will verify the request and respond within applicable legal timeframes.

EU/UK users may lodge a complaint with a local supervisory authority. We process data on the basis of legitimate interests (operating the Service) and consent where required for non-essential cookies.

International transfers

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
